Iran is a vast country. In each corner of this land, there are many things to amaze you. In “Northern and Eastern Iran” tour you will mainly tour north and east of Iran and the provinces of Qazvin, Guilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, Khorasan and Semnan.
In Qazvin province, there is the Imposing Alamut Castle in the heart of Alborz Mountains and just 100 km away from Tehran which is home to ancient mysterious secrets and only one of the reasons to make this trip unique for you.
In Guilan province, in town of Manjil, there are hug wind turbines which make this town the biggest Wind Farm plant of Iran.  The ancient village of Masuleh just adds up to wonders of “Northern and Eastern Iran” tour. The homes of this village have a unique architecture which make the roof of each house the footpath for pedestrians. The men are mostly businessmen and work in the unique bazaar of Masuleh as shopkeepers or run traditional restaurants and the women run their own business making beautiful handicrafts like colorful woven dolls and slippers.
In “Northern and Eastern Iran” tour, you will see Golestan province, the land of rare wonders. Visiting Iranian Turkmen who live in Bandar Torkaman, riding Turkmen horses, wearing colorful Turkmen clothes and getting to know these hospitable people and their interesting culture are what call for you. In the north of Gonbad-e Kavus, in the border of Iran-Turkmenistan, there is an ancient tomb and a peculiar cemetery on the mountain peak where you will explore in this tour.
From Golestan highlands you will go to Khorasan plains, the land of Imam Reza, the eighth Shia Imam, and the home of many Iranians poets and polymath as Ferdowsi and Omar Khayyam. Semnan Province is the last place to be explored with its incredible historical monuments and natural phenomena.

ITINERARY

Day 1

Tehran

Arrival in Tehran, Transfer to hotel. Visit National Museum of Iran (Which consist of two parts, the Museum of Ancient Iran, and the Islamic Era. It contains pottery, ceramics, Bronze, books, coins and other archaeological gems from excavations all over Iran). From there, we will go to Glass and Ceramic Museum, Golestan Palace (Former royal Qajar complex) and Grand Bazaar of Tehran. O/N in Tehran.

Tehran – Alamut (200 km)

After breakfast, drive to Alamut, via Moalem Kelayeh and Gazorkhan (small towns we will pass by or visit en route). Visit Alamut Castle which is also called Hasan Sabbah Fort by locals and is located in the heart of mountains. O/N in Camp.

Day 3

Qazvin – Rasht (244 km)

After breakfast, drive to Rasht. Visit Qazvin, Manjil and Rudbadr (small towns we will pass by or visit en route). In Qazvin, visit Chehel Sotoun palace. (A Safavid pavilion). O/N in Rasht.

Day 4

Rasht

After breakfast, drive to the village of Masouleh, a mountainous village in the province of Gilan, which is registered as National Cultural and Natural Heritage in Iran.The roofs are generally flat or only slightly inclined and often serve as footpaths for pedestrians and upper houses. Return to Rasht in the evening. O/N in Rasht.

Rasht – Ramsar (114 km)

After breakfast, drive to Ramsar. Visit Lahijan and Rudsar en route (small towns we will pass by or visit en route). In Lahijan, visit Lahijan Lake, Sheytan kooh (Satan's Hill), and Tea Museum. The cookies of Lahijan are very popular and tasty. O/N in Ramsar.

Ramsar – Gorgan (390 km)

After breakfast, drive to Gorgan via Abbas Abad, Chalous, Babol and Behshahr (small towns we will pass by or visit en route). In Behshahr, visit Safi Abad palace. The construction of this palace dates back to the Safavid period. The tile and brick works of this structure are very unique and beautiful. O/N in Gorgan.

Gorgan

After breakfast, visit Turkmen Port, Reza Shah Railway and the region where Turkmen people live. There are many beautiful things you can enjoy in Turkman port including Turkmen men and women beautiful and colorful dress, riding the well-bred Turkmen horses, riding boat in Turkmen port. Gorgan - Bojnord (441 km)

After breakfast, drive to Gonbad-e Kabous and visit ``the tower of Kavus``, the most imposing ancient monument in the city. Visit Khaled Nabi Tomb and Cemetery in the Gokcheh Dagh hills of Turkmen Sahra and city of Ash Khaneh en route. Head to Bojnourd. O/N in Bojnourd.

Day 9

Bojnourd – Mashhad (271 km)

After breakfast, drive to Mashhad, the first religious tourism destination in Iran, via Shirvan, Farouj and Radkan village (small towns we will pass by or visit en route). Visit Imam Reza (as)'s Holy shrine, the eighth Shia Imam. O/N in Mashhad.

Mashhad

After breakfast, drive to Tus to visit Tomb of Ferdowsi, the epic poet and the author of the Shahnameh (the Persian Book of Kings). The mausoleum’s current form is a massive stone structure that imitates Achaemenid architecture. Visit the mysterious cube-shaped and brick structure of Harounieh. Return to Mashhad and visit Shandiz and Torghabeh county (40 km away from Mashhad) and have dinner in marvelous restaurants of Shandiz. O/N in Mashhad.

Mashhad – Neyshabour (127 km)

After breakfast, drive to Neyshabour. Visit Mausoleum of Attar Neyshabouri (the great Persian poet and theoretician of Sufism) and Mausoleum of Omar Khayam (the great Persian polymath, mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, and poet). The blue Turquoise stone of Neyshabour is of best quality and well known around the world and you can find various beautiful jewelries made out of this stone in addition to the original raw stone in Neyshabour. O/N in Neyshabour.

After breakfast, drive to Shahrud via Sabzevar. O/N in Shahrud.
